2013 年 12 月 第 3 卷第 1 期 中国莎士比亚研究通讯 N ews R epo~ of S Study in C hina D ec．， 20 13 V 0l -3 No ． 1 论现代版的《 罗密欧与朱丽叶》 电影《 西区故事》 的改编及其分析 ——吴 晓凤 ( 荆 楚 理 工学 院 外 国语 学 院 ， 湖 北 荆 门 ) 提要： 《 西区故事》 是根据莎士比亚的名著《 罗密欧与朱丽叶》 而改编的美国电影。以《 西区故事》 的基本情况为出发点， 分析了其研究现状和意义。《 西区故事》 在电影改编中的主要文学创作， 即 电影改编中的人物变化分析、 对爱情的解读、 对仇恨的理解变化和影片中特有的艺术创作手法； 进 而阐释了《 西区故事》 改编中的独特的审美视角。从而得出《 西区故事》 较之《 罗密欧与朱丽叶》 ，运用 了特殊的场景和音乐元素， 更体现 了故事的悲剧意蕴及影片所体现 的现代 性和社会意义。 围 绕后现代主义和互文性理论下的电影改编展开， 同时， 进一步探 究了《 西 区故事》电影改编所构建 的社会背景和意识形态的表述形式。
